Illustrator Plugin - Placement of exported files
In short this article explains the Admin setting you can configure to decide how Illustrator plugin files are exported
Introduction & best practice
The Admin 'Illustrator Plugin - Placement of exported files' setting in Delogue allows you to configure where exported files from the Illustrator plugin are saved. Specifically, this setting enables you to save exported files in a folder next to the Illustrator file on your own local drive.
This setting provides flexibility for users who prefer to maintain local copies of their exported design files alongside their working Illustrator files. This setting is particularly useful if you need to maintain local copies of exported files for offline work or backup purposes.
Before you start
1) Make sure the 'Company Admin' role is assigned to you as a user; otherwise, it will NOT be possible to see the Admin section. To learn more about assigning different roles to a user, click here.
Enable export setting
This setting allows exported Illustrator files to be saved locally on your computer's hard drive in a folder next to your original Adobe Illustrator file. When this setting is enabled, if you make updates to your Illustrator file, the already exported files will automatically be updated as well, ensuring consistency between your source file and exported versions.
Navigate to: Admin > General Settings > Files
- Find the headline 'Illustrator Plugin - Placement of exported files'
- Set a checkmark next to 'Save exported files in a folder next to the AI file'
NOTE:
- When enabling the function, the system reminds you not to use it when you are already using the File Sync service.
- You should consider whether this feature is needed for your workflow, since enabling it will consume extra storage space on your local drive.
