Table of Contents
Unlock Care Instructions for Suppliers
You can have your suppliers set up or edit care instructions for you. When you start using Care Instructions the default setting will be that suppliers are NOT allowed to edit care instructions.
If you want your suppliers to edit care instructions do the following:
- Mouse over the settings area and click on the edit button.
- Place a checkmark next to 'Set default to "Unlock"' - remember to save the setting.
NOTE: Changing this setting in Admin will change the setting for ALL styles - no matter if care instructions were locked or unlocked on individual styles before.
You can read more about how to set edit permission for suppliers directly on styles here.
Use Care Instructions per color
This option allows you to assign specific care instructions based on the color variant of a style.
- Mouse over the settings area and click on the edit button.
- Place a checkmark next to 'Use different care instructions per color' - remember to save the setting.
This setting will give you extra options on style level, you can learn more about them here.
Use Exception Reasons
This option allows you to give a reason for any exception made on Care Instructions.
- Mouse over the settings area and click on the edit button.
- Place a checkmark next to 'Use exception reasons'.
When you are on a style you can now define the reason why you are using a care instruction exception. Read more about how to work with exception reasons on styles here.

Set up Care Instruction Subtabs
This option allows you to set up different care instructions for the same style. For example different care instructions for different layers or colors of a style. To create the different subtabs do the following:
- Click on 'Add Subtab'.
- Type in a name for the subtab. It is optional to define a subtab ID.
- By default, any new subtab will be set to active.
- Through the edit icon, you can rename your subtabs at any time - this will take effect on style level right away.
- You can also set a subtab to inactive - this will prevent it from being selected on style level in the future.
- You can delete subtabs - but only if they have not been used.
Once you start working with Care Instruction Subtabs you will always have one subtab pre-created - it's the one named 'Main'.
Please notice:
You can change the name of the pre-created subtab to something else.

Set up Care Instruction Exception Reasons
The ‘Exceptions’ setup lets you define different reasons for using Care Instruction Subtabs. This feature is optional - you can use subtabs without setting up exceptions.
If you enable exceptions, you’ll get a dropdown menu on each subtab where you can select a reason. This menu is set up in the admin section.
For example, you might use one subtab for care instructions related to a different color and another subtab for a style variant with a different fabric composition.
To create a new exception reason do the following:
- Enable 'Use exception reasons' - how to do that read more about it here.
- Click on the 'Add Exception'.
- Type in a name for the exception. It is optional to define an exception ID.
- By default, any new exception will be set to active.
- Through the edit icon you can rename exceptions at any time - this will take effect on style level right away.
- You can also set an exception to inactive - this will prevent it from being selected on style level in the future.
- You can delete exceptions - but only if they have not been used.
