Cannot save style name - already exists

If you are trying to create a new style but receive a warning that the style name is already in use — even though no active style with that name is visible — this article explains why that happens and how to fix it.

This happens because the system does not allow two styles to share the same combination of name, season, and supplier — even if one of those styles has been deleted. Deleted styles remain in the system and still occupy that unique combination.

Simply try and filter on your deleted styles with the same style name, season, and supplier.

The Solution:

Follow these steps to resolve the conflict: 1. Navigate to your Styles list and filter by the "Deleted" status. 2. Find the deleted style that shares the same name, season, and supplier as the new style you want to create. 3. Open that deleted style and rename it to something unique (for example, append "_old" or the year to the name). 4. Save the change. 5. You can now create your new style using the original name without conflict.
